My commitments with Affliction Wrestling have ended and to get back to my grass roots I am traveling all over the world - no matter: NWA - WWA and I have one goal in mind: 8 times World champion.
I am no longer going to be billed from "Seattle, Washington" but from now on I will be billed from "Kansas City, Missouri" as this is where my family roots are.
My family roots as I said before go deep in the state of Missouri. My grandfather - Harold C. "Sonny" Myers was a big time player in the wrestling circles in Missouri. Many don't know that he was once the NWA World champion - He defeated Orville Brown in November 1947 for the belt. However, in early 1948, the National Wrestling Alliance was officially formed, and recognized Brown as its first champion, leaving his' reign confined to the history books. He also refereed from Sam Muchnick and Eddie Graham, being the third man int he ring for when Terry Funk beat Jack Brisco in Miami Beach, and when Harley Race beat Ric Flair in 1983 to become 7x NWA champion. He was 14x Central States champion, and Missouri champion as well.
His legacy lived on through a lawsuit, however. He sued P. L. (Pinkie) George, Des Moines promoter, and the National Wrestling Alliance for $600,000 in an anti-trust action in the 1960s. He contention was that the alliance and George had a monopoly on wrestling and caused him financial damage.
I have known many of the old guys like Bob Geigal and Sam Muchnick since I was a little kid - so it is only right I come back around the Central States area and let me say this - Wes Barrett - your Missouri state title is what I want - then Adam Pearce - then I will get my title back from you!
Let this be a wake up call for all the talent in CSW - You will all be getting an Attitude Adjustment!
