World Championship Wrestling reforms as a member of the WWA. It is official. Amidst rumors for the past few weeks, a press conference was held in St Louis this morning with the announcement that World Championship Wrestling will return as an active promotion, some nine years after it was bought by Fredrickson Sports Promotions. WCW will retain a separate roster of talent from that of the PWA. A general manager will oversee WCW, but the PWA and WCW and developmental promotion CSW will retain the same Front Office under Fredrickson Sports Promotion. WCW will take over the Friday night show on The CW known just as “World Championship Wrestling”. The PWA will retain all other television products, other than Central States Wrestling, now seen on WGN on Saturdays nights. WCW will have a roster and booking/writing staff that will be separate from the PWA. Both promotions will share the WWA World Heavyweight, World Hardcore and North American titles. For now WCW will be promoting the Cruiserweight division and booking the WWA World Cruiserweight title, with the PWA promoting the Tag Team division and booking the WWA World Tag Team Title. WCW and the PWA will co-promote all the current pay-per-views. For more information visit www.carltodd.com/wcw/
