FREDRICKSON SPORTS PROMOTIONS PRESS RELEASE
Fredrickson Sports Promotions makes Front Office changes.
FSP announced today several changes to the front office. Chief Executive Officer of the Board Howard Brody has been named President of Entertainment and Retail Operations and will oversee PWA Film Studios, PWA Books, FSP Music Group, Kiel Center, Fredrickson Plaza, PWA World, PWA: NY. Chief Operating Officer of the Board Terry Taylor has been named President of Wrestling Operations and will oversee the PWA, WCW and CSW brands. Vice Chairman Michael McCarthy has been named President of Hockey Operations and will oversee the St. Louis Blues.
WCW has named Ted Dibiase Sr as General Manager and Head of Creative Control for the WCW brand, Bret Hart was named Head of Training and Creative Control for the CSW brand. Michael Hayes remains in charge of overall Creative Control and in charge of the PWA brand.
The past six months have been great for the PWA brand. TV ratings have skyrocketed, house attendance has increased and PPV revenue has also seen a large increase. While the WCW brand, which was spun off in March of this year has seen a decrease in TV ratings (compared to the PWA on the CW show it replaced) and not as high sells on house shows.
The Front Office are not yet in a panic, as in the past the ratings on the network show, formerly The PWA on FOX/later The PWA on the CW now rebranded as World Championship Wrestling and broadcasted on the CW have always seen a slight dropped in the spring time, but always picked back up in the summer. Either way changes are headed to the WCW brand under Mr. Dibiase. No one is talking of just what yet, but look for the “1980’s retro look” of logos, TV introductions and sets to disappear. One other change will be the reassignment of Roddy Piper, the now former “on screen” GM of WCW to the PWA brand. Piper is rumored to be once again hosting a weekly Piper’s Pit segment on PWA Prime Time Wrestling. Several wrestlers will also be reassigned and moved from brand to brand.
FSP also signed a working deal with California Pro Wrestling, a member of the NWA. CPW is owned by Joseph Graham and we look forward to working with them.
